Brief
Every bank's imagery is the same handshake under the same softbox. Atlas's own research said their customers wanted the opposite of friendly — they wanted permanent, unglamorous, competent. The commission was to photograph the bank as infrastructure: real branches, real staff, nothing cast, nothing borrowed from stock.
02
Approach
Five branches and the head office, shot documentary-style over two weeks. No casting — everyone in the pictures works there, photographed doing their actual job with one light at most. The palette was locked to the brand's near-monochrome system in advance, so the grade could stay honest instead of correcting toward it. Anyone who didn't want to be photographed wasn't.
03
Outcome
A 120-image library that now carries the annual report, the website and recruitment. It reads as a record of an institution rather than an advertisement for one — which, per their research, is the advertisement.
